Willem Vriend moest in de eerste race opgeven nadat hij en Jan Stakenburg bij het aanremmen van de Tarzanbocht met elkaar in contact waren gekomen. In de tweede race wist hij zich vanaf de laatste plaats te revancheren op te werken naar plek vier.
Ondertussen werd er om de plekken drie tot en met negen voor elke centimeter geknokt. Onder andere Patrick Boxem, Rainer von Klier, Lex Peters, Philip Griffioen en Ton Strous, wisten een aangename vertoning van de twee races voor het aanwezige publiek te maken.
