Op vrijdag 10 oktober is de Westfield Cup dit jaar voor de laatste keer te zien op Circuitpark Zandvoort. Logisch, want het is ook het afsluitende weekend van het DNRT, dus ook de grande finale voor de Westfield Cup coureurs. De cup met Britse roots sluit dan alweer haar zevende seizoen af met mogelijk weer een nieuwe naam die zich Westfield Cup kampioen mag noemen. Al is de kans groter dat voor de eerste keer in het bestaan van de cup een naam voor de tweede maal op de kampioensbeker mag prijken.
Tijdens de Wilkens C.s. finaleraces zijn er 124 punten te verdienen. RAEK Racing coureur Heeck staat op Vriend en de equipe Lazell/Wellink, de respectievelijke nummers twee en drie 53 en 73 punten voor. Het mag duidelijk zijn dat de finaleraces een spektakel worden waarin de drie kampioenskandidaten er alles aan gaan doen om het kampioenschap mee naar huis te nemen.
Tijdens het laatste evenement staan er ook een aantal nieuw- en oudgedienden aan de start. Michel Schaap was er in de beginjaren van de Westfield Cup al bij, zo ook Mies van Grunsven, die vorig jaar nog regelmatig achter het stuur van een Westfield kroop. De fun factor van de Westfield Cup auto blijft trekken en dus hebben deze twee mannen Hans en Christiaan Dijkhof over de streep getrokken om ook eens in te stappen. Het ziet er naar uit dat de Witmer & Odijk Westfield Cup kan rekenen op een vol veld, dat leuk voor rijder en publiek is en waar menig andere klasse een puntje aan kan zuigen.
